SUMMER Debate Institute 2025

This summer, Youth Debate Academy is transitioning to a full-scholarship model. Applications for Summer 2025 are due April 1, 2025.
This August, Youth Debate Academy will host a 2-week in-person Summer Institute at the Winsor School in Boston, MA. The program will take place on weekdays from August 4, 2024 to August 16, 2024. Taught by our 2x International Champion Head Coach and award-winning student instructors, students will learn the fundamentals of public speaking, argument construction, and logical reasoning.
Beginner Introduction (Ages 9-11)
Introduction to public speaking and debate
9am - 3pm, every weekday
$500 per week ($1,000 total) - full scholarships available by application
Advanced Introduction (Ages 12-15)
Advanced Introduction to Impromptu Speaking and British Parliamentary Debate
9am - 3pm, every weekday
$750 per week ($1,500 total) - full scholarships available by application
By signing up for any of our programs, you are thereby consenting to recording and/or picture-taking during our classes as the instructors see fit. Any pictures or videos taken may be saved to later be used for marketing purposes.
Who teaches this program?
All Youth Debate Academy programs are completely student-run. The Summer Institute will be taught by our team of award-winning instructors, including our International Champion Head Coach!
How are scholarship positions allocated?
Our scholarship opportunities are allocated on a need-basis. At Youth Debate Academy, we believe that diverse learning environments foster the development of new perspectives, which is crucial to public speaking & debate. Low-income students, students with few opportunities to pursue speech & debate, and students from underrepresented communities are all encouraged to apply!
Is this program fun?
We certainly hope so! With lots of hands-on exercises and games, students are sure to have fun and learn something new!
